"Helga" by Lush Newton and Malia Penhall. This is Lush and Malia's first ever attempt at sand scuplture - hope they come again next year!
"Great Western Tiger Swallowtail" by Marianne Cipolla, Ethan Knox, Magdalena Lozoya, Euphemia & Rosalie Cipolla. In the photo it's hard to see the antennae made out of kelp - very cool!

"Catch of the Day" - this one's so huge it's hard to see in the photo that an unfortunate nude swimmer is being caught on fishing line by three different sea creatures!

"After Lunch Siesta" by Ashar Bhakti. Most sculptors dig a hole in order to get wet sand for their work, this sculptor worked the hole into the design - very creative!

Carol Vander Meer, FOD Executive Director, stands on a cooler to shout out the winners and pass out the cash. This year's festival was directed by board member Karen Maynell and the judging was by Monica Topping, Susan Neel-Goodsir and Catherine Almy.
This proves just how good the weather was!
